Marielle Garrigó is a well-recognized lawyer who has played a key role in many of the landmark transactions and projects in the Dominican Republic. Her corporate practice focuses in Banking Law, Mergers and Acquisitions, Project Finance, Capital Markets and Infrastructure.

Marielle joined the Firm as Partner after a two-and-a-half-year stint in the public sector where she was appointed as Special Counsel to the Superintendent of Banks. In her capacity, she provided special counsel to the Office of the Superintendent and also actively participated in the two highest ranking committees of the Superintendency of Banks. She also undertook responsibilities in representation of the Superintendent at the Procurement Committee and for a year acted as President of the Public Procurement Committee.
She has over 25 years of experience in Banking, Capital Markets, Mergers and Acquisitions, Project Finance and Corporate and Business Law in the Dominican Republic. Marielle has worked extensively in the private practice, having been Partner at two other prestigious law firms in the Dominican Republic and leading their corporate and finance practices. In her years of practice, some of her relevant experience includes acting as legal counsel to:
· The purchaser in the first leveraged buyout (LBO) in the Dominican Republic for the acquisition by a mixed capital investment fund of the concession for the administration of five (5) international airports. The transaction was featured in the IFLR1000 as Deal of the Year in the Dominican Republic.
· Anheuser-Busch InBev in the indirect acquisition of a majority interest in Cervecería Nacional Dominicana, the largest acquisition in the Dominican Republic and one of the most relevant in the industry for the region for an amount in excess of US$2.0 billion.
·The underwriters in the first sovereign bonds offerings, the subsequent exchange, later offerings and including the first issuance in USD and DOP in the amount of US$1.2 billion closed in 2014.
·The underwriters in bond issuance of local companies in the energy sector, under Rule144A and Regulation S.
· A leading international mining company in a US$1.2 billion financing transaction.
· The lenders in foreign syndicated loans for amounts in excess of US$200 million with security packages involving both private and public parties and multiple jurisdictions.

Marielle brings an impressive track record advising clients across different industries and she has an outstanding reputation, which has been recognized within the highest rankings of corporate and finance law by international associations such as Chambers and Partners, the most recognized legal directory in the world, The Legal 500, IFLR1000, Latin Lawyer and Who's Who Legal. She frequently contributes to several publications such as Latin Lawyer, Latin Counsel, Lexology, Getting the Deal Through and Women, Business and the Law.

She received her Bachelor of Laws from Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra and her master's in international law and business from Washington College of Law in American University. Marielle has also participated in several law and business programs at Harvard University, Northwestern University, Tulane University and the Lex Mundi Institute.

Marielle is a member of the Dominican Association of Fulbright Alumni and the Alumni Association of American University's Washington College of Law. She is currently the Co-Chair for the Dominican Republic of the Women in the Profession Program of the Vance Center of International Justice and member of the Board of Directors Instituto Cultural Dominico Americano in the Dominican Republic. Marielle frequently conducts pro-bono work to facilitate the financing of small enterprises and is advocate of financial education programs open to the general public. She was also a faculty member of the MBA imparted by University APEC jointly accredited by Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM).
